Driver-i version 3

May 2016.
We have made some big changes to our Driver-i app. Drivers now get notifications when a vehicle is due or over due maintenance, and will warn the driver that a vehicle is VOR.
RFM users now have the ability to adjust the standard walkaround tasks. Driver-i now takes photos of defects and damage. We have also added the ability top report defects as and when needed.

DVSA Remote Enforcement

DVSA are rolling out a system of remote enforcement which will see them checking on operator’s compliance remotely using desk based assessments and data collection.

As reported by Commercial Motor, it is clear that DVSA realise that not all businesses are using an electronic system, there are those that are still utilising “paper systems” to record job card, inspection and defect records.

However, these hauliers will not be given any leeway and are still expected to produce the required documents within a timely manner when requested.

So with this in mind there’s never been a better time to jump into the digital age with a widely used workshop and fleet management package such as RFM and RFM live. It will streamline your workflow and make your day to day workshop management much easier whilst enabling you to comply with any request from DVSA quickly and easily.

The RFM system has many features to help with DVSA compliance, like our paperless driver walk around system Driver-i & our online web portal RFM live to view current maintenance records and dates.

Driver-i also works as a defect reporting system allowing drivers to complete their walk around check and send it directly to the operator along with any reported defects as well as emailing all involved such as the traffic manager and workshop manager.

Once a defect has been reported, an RFM operator can quickly convert the defect into a job card or supplier purchase order allowing for a speedy rectification, whilst being tracked all the way leaving a clear audit trail for any inspections by the DVSA.

RFM Live can be accessed from any web browser giving vehicle information such as maintenance carried out dates, attached documents, inspection sheets and defects reported.

With these systems being fully digital all of the documents are available at any time in one place removing the hassle of trawling through filling cabinets.
